Sunday September 1, 1991 at the Carrefour Beausoleil High School, the former Pastor of Lyttleton Pentecostal Church, Rev. Phillip Lestor, announced the opening of a new church in the Town of Newcastle (now Miramichi City), calling it GRACE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP".  In October 1992 Grace Christian Fellowship then moved again to Newcastle Masonic Hall until October 1,1993 when they finally moved yet again into their new church facility on 345 Beaverbrook Rd.  On November 5th - 7th of that same year they celebrate their Grand Opening.  On March 26^th 1994, a Dedication service of the Grace Christian Fellowship building was conducted by Rev. Bob Smith & Pastor Phillip Lester.

Rev Ronald Ecker Pastored the congregation from October 1999 to August 2004 and later in the year of 2004 Pastor John Stewart who still Pastors Miramichi Fellowship Center of Blackville also became the Pastor of Grace Christian Fellowship.

LIFTING JESUS HIGHER MINISTRIES

In November 1993 another former Pastor of Lyttleton Pentecostal Church, Rev. Harold Chamberlain started with his associate, Rev Ronald Ecker a new ministry called JUBILEE CHRISTIAN CENTER at the former St Mary’s Convent also located in Newcastle (now Miramichi City). Rev Don Walsh, Rev Wendell England, and Rev Robert Bourque also Pastored the congregation at different times with Rev Chamberlain as the Senior Pastor at Jubilee from October 1993 to October 2004. During that month of October 2004, Rev Ronald Ecker returned to this congregation as the Senior Pastor and changed the name of the congregation to LIFTING JESUS HIGHER MINISTRIES.

Two Congregations Become One in RIVER OF LIFE ASSEMBLY

In October 2006 the congregation of LIFTING JESUS HIGHER MINISTRIES (formerly known as Jubilee Christian Center), moved into the facility of GRACE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP. Just as several towns in the area became one city called Miramichi City (in January 1995), God did something special in like manner in that move (without the strife the city went through during its amalgamation). In July 2007, GRACE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP and LIFTING JESUS HIGHER MINISTRIES became as one calling the new body of believers RIVER OF LIFE ASSEMBLY. Later that year a mortgage burning service was held, celebrating together the goodness of God.

God is not finished yet! We are impacting our city showing them the love of God by every available means. “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples. (NLT)” John 13:35  Our continued prayer is not only will people see the love of God, they will experience the love of God for themselves and allow that love to manifest through their lives in our city!
