Miramichi Evangelical Ministerial Association
Mission Statement:
“Our
mission is to make disciples on the Miramichi, across cultural boundaries, by the proclamation and practice of the Gospel
of Christ. God has clearly called each of us to the Miramichi. Knowing that we cannot
accomplish the task alone, empowered by God’s Holy Spirit, we will endeavour to work together for the furthering of
the Kingdom of God on the Miramichi.”
The Miramichi Evangelical Ministerial Association (MEMA) will be comprised of clergy from
the Miramichi who are willing to come together in unity so that the message of the Gospel can have a greater impact in our
area. Knowing that God blesses unity, we will focus on our similarities - chiefly –
"You must be born again!" (a living relationship with God through
Jesus Christ) - and in agreement with The Apostles’ Creed, which is attached to this form.
If at any time one comes to the conclusion that they cannot be in agreement with this Creed, they will be expected
to voluntarily withdraw themselves from the MEMA.
Miramichi Evangelical Ministerial Association
Covenant
We, the Miramichi Evangelical Ministerial Association, covenant this day to submit to the
commandment of our Lord Jesus Christ reflected in John 13:34-35 - that we will be known by our love for one another.
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one
another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love one for another.”
(NKJV)
We purpose in
our hearts to fulfil the call to unity as expressed in Ephesians 4:1-6 by the following actions:
We covenant not to allow schisms, disputes, unkind criticism, or defamation of character in our midst.
We covenant as fellow shepherds that we will
not tolerate the unethical practice of sheep stealing and the recycling of disgruntled members. We agree
that we will confer with one another regarding these matters in the spirit of reconciliation.
We covenant that life and death are in the power of the tongue. Therefore, we will
speak edification, exhortation, and comfort to the Miramichi.
We covenant to handle a fallen brother or sister in love according to Biblical principles as stated in
Galatians 6:1 – “Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual
restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.” (NKJV)
We
intentionally covenant to fellowship together, to be accountable to one another, covering one another in the spirit of love,
prayer and protection.
As we covenant
to pastor the Miramichi, we commit our gifts, callings, and resources to each other to strengthen the work for a great harvest.
I, _______________________________________________________,
as a pastor, sign this covenant in commitment to the articles herein stated.

The Apostles’
Creed
I believe
in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator
of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus
Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
He was
conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and
born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered
under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified,
died, and was buried.
He descended to
the dead.
On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the
forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection
of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
